after installing nvidia driver, slackware will not boot. it begins to boot normally and after about 5 seconds text disappears and screen stays black. anybody know how to fix this?
This is usually caused by a failed handover of the console. Try to add the "nomodeset" to your command line. Then check that the "nouveau" module be blacklisted as it should.
Even better, uninstall the nvidia driver.
PS In y opinion there is no point running -current if you don't know how to handle such an issue, as -current is provided only to help find and fix issues before the next stable release.
Oh and I remind you that you that you should rebuild the nvidia kernel module whenever you install a new kernel.
