BIND Error Logs

I searched around, but was unable to find what I need (just my luck ). Where does BIND store its errors? I need to see if any errors are coming up. I'm not having problem starting and stopping the server, but just want to see if my config files are loading properly.

if anything is verbose and spits something out to the console it would most likely be logged in "/var/logs/messages.*"

might be different if your not using slack though
