[SOLVED] /bin/dircolors: /etc/DIR_COLORS:1: invalid line; missing second token

After openning a konsole terminal i get this message:

How can i get rid of that?

To prevent the error comment out the line

Code:

LS_COLORS=...

...in /etc/DIR_COLORS

To fix the line so that it works, correct the error (where did you get the line from? Maybe start with a clean copy.)

Yes your DIR_COLORS looks messed up. You might be better off reinstalling the package coreutils which it's from in case something else is messed up in the file.

Are you telling to install coreutils from Slackware dvd?

Yes I think that is what bgeddy means for you to do.

I see that you posted an earlier related thread here, so I kind of assume that you have been trying things to change the appearance of your ls command, among them the new /etc/DIR_COLORS that you posted, which is not the one that installs with Slackware.

I might suggest when you make such changes always keep a safe backup of the original and test incrementally so that you can more easily recover when things go wrong.
