I've just installed 13.1 and am using a BenQ monitor with max resolution of 1920x1080. However, each time I log into KDE I'm back to 1280x720. The highest res offered is 1680x1050 which I can live with, but how can I get KDE to remember my higher setting - attack xorg.conf and just edit everything else out?
First, you don't want to use 'radeonhd'. It's undeveloped and unsupported. You should be using 'radeon' though, most likely, you probably don't even need an xorg.conf file at all. I'd be interested in seeing the /var/log/Xorg.0.log file that is generated without an xorg.conf file, as well as the output of 'xrandr'.
Yes, that did the trick
Not only does it preserve my settings it also restored the transparency options in konsole and the taskbar which were previously listed as disabled...as well as animated switching from desktop to desktop. Thanks!
