BCM4318 802.11g wireless card issues

I have a BCM4318 [Airforce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless card that does not pick up any wireless connections. I have wicd installed correctly and that seems to be working great.

Everything I find online is out-of-date and of no help.

Is there a proper place to link to to download the driver needed?

I don't even know if that is the problem.

By the way I'm using slack 12.2

I believe that device is supported by the b43 driver. Try running "lspci -vnn | grep 14e4" to see if the device is listed. If it is, you probably just need to install the proper firmware.

For more info, visit this page at Linux Wireless.

edit...
(The card's not necessarily supported just because the PCI-ID begins with 14e4. In this case I was already sure that the last 4 digits would be 4318. You have to check the table on the Linux Wireless page for each particular chipset.)

running the "lspci -vnn | grep 14e4" command did list my device as:
Quote:
02:02.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4318 [AirForce One 54g] 802.11g Wireless LAN Controller [14e4:4318] (rev 02)
I'm looking at how to download this firmware right now.

Thanks for your help
