bbkeys in background

This question isn't really Slackware specific, but since I'm using Slackware I figured I would post here. I have bbkeys entered into .xinitrc such as "bbkeys &", so it starts when I enter "startx" in bash. When blackbox starts, bbkeys does start with it, but the little keyhole window (for configuration) appears in the bottom left of the desktop. Since I included the "&" after the bbkeys entry in .xinitrc, I thought the window would not appear. Is there any way to hide the window, but still start bbkeys when blackbox starts? Thanks.

Maybe 'bbkeys -i'

Worked, thanks a lot. So what does the "&" do then? I've noticed that if I take it away, blackbox will sort of start, but there's no background or slit, it just shows the program that I've told it to run on startup.

Also, I've learned that -i means the script will run in interactive mode. What is interactive mode?

The '&' backgrounds the process so other things can load. If you don't have the '&' it will wait for bbkeys to quit before loading anything else ... not good, so keep the &.

For bbkeys '-i' means iconic (do 'bbkeys --help' or 'man bbkeys').

Got it, thanks. I need to remember to use man and --help more often.

Hmm weird, i don't have -i, yet it still works:

Code:
bbtime &
bbkeys &
exec /usr/bin/blackbox
