Sorry I don't understand.
Let's take one issue at a time: liloconfig (please make another thread for xfce if it's not related).
What system is in the host: Slackware or LFS?
What system is in the virtual machine: Slackware or LFS?
Are you running liloconfig from the host or from the virtual machine?
How do you invoke liloconfig: directly, or after chroot?

So if I understand well you try to run "liloconfig" from Slackware in the VM, as you have installed LFS in some other partition of the VM. Is this correct?
You are running liloconfig as root, right?
You have installed the "lilo" Slackware package, right?
Please post output of following command, typed from Slackware:
Code:
ls -l /sbin/liloconfig
Also, /sbin should be in the PATH of root in Slackware, but else as a workaround type /sbin/liloconfig instead of just liloconfig.
