Backup Kernel?

Hello, I'm still out of lukc with my vmware thread, sigh. Maybe I'm going to try win4lin. I read that both change the kernel, can you make a back up? or a copy and then edit the lilo file sothat i can always go back to what i have now? I really don't want to loose what I have for the kernel is doing fine.

By the way I know win4line doesnt run nt versions so I'm still seeking the vmware solution.

backups

If you're worried about your kernel I'd back up anything in /boot such as your /boot/vmlinuz or if you recompiled and used /boot/bzImage instead. Also when you cd /usr/src/linux and make menuconfig there are options to Save Configuration to an Alternate File and Load an Alternate Configuration File...Please correct me if I'm wrong with any of that, but I'm pretty sure that gets most of the important stuff...
