backtrack 1.0 boot issue!
Hi,
When I try to boot my laptop (a Fujitsu Siemens Lifebook thingy) It hangs or something, I get the bootsplash that says <<Back|Track. but when I hit enter as it says im supposed to do it hangs after a few seconds on my Stationary comp after loading like 70% of the vmlinuz (juding by the number of dots appearing). But on my laptop I get this message after 2 minutes (while nothing happends during those 2 minutes): "Loading boot/vmlinuz....isolinux: Disk error 1C, AX = 4280, drive 9F" what am I supposed to do? burn it again at a slower speed? |
it may relate to the hardware driver of (?) inside the kernel you chose
Can you post your hardware including make and model hard disk is IDE or sata..... onboard raid or what raid card you have.... scsi cdrom/dvd or atapi optical drive graphics card keyboard...mouse stuff alternatively you could search the HCL list here to see if model is mentioned http://www.linuxquestions.org/hcl/showcat.php/cat/518 |
Toshiba MK1016GAP, 9,36 Gb on my old laptop. I dont know anything about laptop hardware but it should be a IDE drive. I really dont think the problem lyes elsewhere then on the CD or the HD.
