Backing up KDE Menu config

I've got a Laptop and a Netbook set up with near identical config.

I have my KDE menu nicely configured with different icons/name formatting/ordering and some extra categories. I'd like to just have a drop-in/out backup of this so I can keep both systems in sync.

I have tried to copy/paste the .desktops from ~/.../share/applications/ but this doesn't work.

If anyone knows of an efficient solution for this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

I think you want to save your ~/.kde directory which contains all your settings and menus.

The menu layout is here
~/.config/menus/applications-kmenuedit.menu
Take a look at ~/.local/share/applications/ as well
