Average kernel size after compiling

After using several distro's, I have settled down with Slackware, Archlinux and FreeBSD. After several kernel compiles, I have noticed a large variation in kernel sizes, the smallest being for Slackware.

Purely out of curiosity...........what is your average kernel compilation size?

1.924.450 bytes - kernel 2.6.11.7 (desktop)
1.613.238 bytes - kernel 2.6.6 (server)

I built most of the stuff I need built-in, one exception is ALSA.

My "linux-2.4.31" is of 969687 bytes [946K]
All what's frequently used is built in, of course.
I have few hardware no SCSI, no USB, no PnP, etc.
