autostart linux in XFCE

Hi i'm trying to autostart firefox in XFCE. I've edited the .xinitrc file, and added this line":

"exec firefox"

but nothing happens. I'm not sure where to put the line so i just put it between the normal code and the RC4 warning.

Thanks!

I give you a good well written reference by Darrell Anderson;

A little reading and you will find your answer!

Lazy man's way: With Firefox running, log out and click the box "Save session for future logins." Restart XFCE4. Firefox will launch every time.
