automount cdrom and pen drives

hello

there is some way that my slack auto mount devices that i connect like pen drives and cdrom's and give the apropriate permissons to unmount to the current user?

I guess you'd need to install supermount for cd-roms.
For usb-devices you'll have to play with the hotplug
scripts and modify /etc/fstab for the appropriate device.

Cheers,
Tink

P.S.: Supermount is evil :)

Why not use submount and just put a link to the device on your desktop?

(*incert cd, open desktop shortcut, view contents*)

I use submount and it works great with both cdrom and floppies, I assume it will work as well with pen drive but never tried.

Here is the link for the project : http://sourceforge.net/projects/submount/.

There is two versions, one for kernel 2.6, submount-0.9 and the other submount-2.4-0.9 for kernel 2.4.

Give it a try!
