Use AMIGO Linux. easy to duplicate on any machine. Slackware 9.1-compatible.

I've heard you can set it up then tar it up burn it then explode/extract it on another machine. If you had a lot of machines with the samehard ware this would sound cool cause you would be out only the time setting up partitions.

If you want to install a similar system on various machines, just install AMIGO on one machine. Set it up and add whatever programs you want. Then make a zip file of the whole linux folder. You can then unzip it and install anywhere else. If you want auto-configuration to run each time you install it, then before zipping the file, run the script /usr/lib/amigosetup/pristine. This will 'clean' the install of the configuration files generated during auto-configuration. So, run pristine and then zip it. The original install will run auto-configuration the next time it is booted. pristine will not interfere with any programs you have installed or other config changes.
