(auto)mounting devices in slackware w/ (or w/o) KDE
Hi guys.
I'm running a slackware-current box and I'm using an UBS drive and a digital camera. This is what I did: - created mount point for both - created udev rule for creating /dev links - added lines to fstab for each device, as: /dev/iomegadh1 /mnt/iomegalx xfs noauto, user 0 0 Everything works fine, I always mounted fs from the console. But I was wondering about automounting. Has KDE an automounting feature? And another thing I was wondering having a glance at KDE control center: how does KDE know that a device is a camera (rather than a SCSI drive, as it appers to be)? Thanks. Enrico. |

regards, ...drkstr **edit** This is just a speculation, but I'm sure this was left out of Slackware by choice due to it's potential for messing up your data. |
