Attempting to install slack...
Well I just popped disk one in and Im at the point where I need to make partitions using fdisk
I listed the partitions /dev/hda1 has my windows partition. /dev/hda2 has my linux partition. The problem is I cant add any more partitions. I thought I was supposed to be able to add a / /home and a swap partition however when I try to add one through the n option it says that there is no more avalible space. Do I need to erase the linux partition through fdisk and then create / /home and swap on there? If this is correct what size should I make these partitions. Ill have 9 gigs of space. And which ones should be extended adn primary partitions? |
why not try cfdisk ... :)
anyway, you can resize the current linux partition /dev/hda2 , make it smaller and create new partitions (use extended) from the free space |
you dont assing(sp) the mount for the drive untill your in the install process. its where your formatting matting the partitions. remember you need a swap partions as well and that is the code 82 make sure to set that or ti wont work.
