ati drivers xorg.conf and gnome

i installed ati drivers, then i started gnome with startx and everything was working great as it should (acceleration,...), but then i rebooted comp. in runlevel 4, loged-in with gdm startup-screen, gnome was still using old xorg.conf (not ati)...i dont know why is this happening. runlevel 4 never starts with ati drivers, only if i go to runlevel 3 and type startx the is working

any ideas?

Try installing the ati drivers and run fglrxconfig after logging in runlevel 4. Then, ctrl+alt, backspace to re-start X. As long as the old xorg.conf gets replaced, you should be good to go.

i looked throught the logs and found that gnome was alway using this conf instead one in /etc/X11/
i erase it and now is working
