Ati Drivers Gone Wrong :( ¿?

VIDEO CARD--- ATI 9600 AIW 128mb Pro
DISTRO--- SlackWare 10.1

ATI PROBLEMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WILL I EVER GET HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sry to be brief but ima at school (ill edit it when i get home), Well im running Slackware 10.1 got my Cedega installed have access to my random windows partition which resides Steam, and my sound works so that all good. But the real problem i have is these ATI cards they have been haunting me ever since back in the day of RedHat 9. Everytime i would install them something would go wrong and It would be the newest version. My fellow linux buddy (wont name) tells me that with these new ATI video driver makers are like super better then before, and now that they have xorg what not its like crazy better and im not too sure if thats true.

Now when i tryed installed the drivers in ROOT by typen "rpm -Uvh --force (ati drivers).rpm
I get like this crazy error "dependence errors" like a gang of them.. like all .libs and what not.. and im like.. o great here we go again.. sry for being brief but.. thats as far as i got.. and no further so if anyone would and could help me i would be very greatful.

GOD BLESS AND GO LINUX(for life)

(edit) sry my friend that RHylinux kid told me to rpm -Uvh --force even tho ur suppose to do a rpm2tgz then installpkg.. but now i know and when i get home we will see what happens.. sry

I believe it's stupposed to be rpm2tgz the name of the file, then install it like it was a installpkg. Then change directory into the fglrx directory and type sh ./make_install, and cd .. to the parent directory, and do ./make_build. Or something like that. Someone correct me.

EDIT: I'm not a kid.. c? I'm a week older then you are.
