ATI Drivers - Flickering (Sync Issues?)
I seem to be having some issues with my ATI drivers. I got them all set up, using 3.12.0(3.14.6 didn't work at all for me), and was about ready to do some gaming, when I started having problems. See, when they're working correctly, everything works and looks fine. However, with less than two minutes of use in ANY openGL application, the screen starts flickering madly. If you've ever seen a monitor that's out of it's sync range, it looks something like that. The image is all garbled and scrolling across the screen quickly. If I switch to a tty and then switch back, the screen is fine for about 2-3 seconds, then starts flickering again.
It's really, really starting to piss me off. I verified that it does it with all supported resolutions and refresh rates of the three monitors I've tried, and both with the internal and external AGP module(the problem is the worst with the external AGP module, it seems). Anyone had this problem, and dare I ask, found a solution? Or is it something unrelated to the ATI drivers that I'm just not picking up on in all my infinite stupidity? System is Slack 10 Current, but I had this problem before I upgraded to current as well. Oh, and the X server is 6.7, as 6.8.10 isn't compatible with any versions of the ATI drivers.
