.asx-files with Totem or RealPlayer?

Hi,

How can .asx-files (meta-files for .asf-files) be used directly in RealPlayer or Totem (plug-in, codec, ...)?

What about a bash script which extracts the path-info with sed and feeds it to RealPlayer. Is this feasible?

Not sure about RealPlayer or Totem, but I can listen to .asx files at www.chess.fm with gxine.

Hi,

Thanks for the hint. I tried it at www.chess.fm, but that didn't work out. Other sites, however, did, as long as I didn't switch to full screen-mode.

I then installed Mplayer (pre5) and mplayerplug-in from www.linuxpackages.net, who solve the full screen-troubles. www.chess.fm remains a problem: mplayerplug-in keeps loading (as gxine did).
