View Poll Results: Are you using any Slackware derivative distributions?
I am a Slackware user and i also have a Slackware derivative installation
Slackware on my high powered and much loved desktop machine. Debian squeeze on my boring work Laptop, Debian squeeze (Only thing I could find a SPARC port of) on my rebuilt Sun Sparc server I found in a bin.
I've toyed with Vector (interesting...but too far removed from Slack for me) and Salix (VERY nice if I must say) but always come to the realization that at least for me, you really can't beat the original.
I only use Slackware. If you answer to this poll, in this forum, that you are instead using a Slackware derivative, you should reconsider your options.
Eric
Ahh, then why you have a wee MS Windows logo in the corner?
Slackware only. I do dabble a bit with others to keep up on the tech. However, I only *use* Slackware. Except of course for this stupid Windows laptop my employer forces me to use. Can you believe our VPN web portal *requires* MSIE 6. Egad, man!
Hey, what the...stop...Get down! OFF! Bad Windows...BAD!
Thank you all for voting, next time i make a poll like this one i will try not to forget any options and write instructions on how to vote.
Even i didnt vote the way i wanted for other people to do so in this poll.
My motivation for creating it was that i switched from using system rescue cd as a live recovery medium into riplinux, since a Slackware system is much more familiar to me than a Gentoo one.
I was wondering, since Slackware doesnt have an official live CD, if other people choose any of the derivatives for that purpose as well.
Distribution: slackware 13.37 x86_64 desktop, Slackware-current on laptop

Slackware on the desktop, mint on the laptop (although I will be installing slack on the laptop when I get back off the road) and armedslack on my sheevaplug
Salix and Zenwalk are both great imo. Salix is more closely tied to Slackware. Zewnalk tends to be a bit more up to date while retaining the stability that Slackware is known for.
