Hi, installed, working, really love it - but default config file is poor, would greatly appreciate any hints and would be even more grateful if someone allow me to have a look at its own cwmrc. Asking also for tips: what kind of behavior I can emulate with cwm? I know about grouping, just managed number of simple commands, I like windows naming, fast search for command to execute. My needs: I want to have some windows to be opened at startup, at fixed position - probably as separate group. Proper settings for Xterm - yes there is system config for xterm - but maybe better do not touch this system config - let changes be local. Having a look at little more advanced config file would be a great help. In future I will post my own - once it will be finished. Final question what about D-Bus? I can run cwm with or without D-Bus - what are benefits of these two options? Know that some people dislike D-Bus.
What this all has to do with Slackware? Would be grateful if it will be added to official next release.
It's a shame they don't ship with better keybindings by default. The stock ones really are quite bad and I think it puts a lot of people off.
Yours remind me awesome. It was given me a hint to look into https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...t2-4175539067/. The poster manged thin active borders like in CDE: red/blue. I don't know I like it, but it can be useful. I am thinking right-mouse button menu: optional, non-grouping and probably ignored windows. Say htop which stats vertically half-maximal, ignored - to avoid cycling on it - and to avoid to include it into group. Rxvt as optional to xterm terminal. Such things like xload, xclock it would be nice to autolaunch at fixed position. Basic group: xterm and seamonkey - simply autolaunch - add to common group. Is there something like standalone panel? I am asking for sake to run nm-applet - which requires "panel" - it can attach to itself. It is not of much of importance but such standalone panel could be useful.
Edit: I forgot $ xcompmgr -c -f -F 2&>/dev/null & if someone is little tired.
of course I could add to this file xload, xclock at correct position and size, possibly xman. First I was thinking to add these commands directly to .xinitrc - but I think this is better.
I just realized that my solution to start default applications is very simple, but I was unable to manage to work default X session manager [b ]xsm [/b]. I was unable to properly set configuration. But , on the light side of the force, I found this tool http://www.slackbuilds.org/repositor...ystem/udiskie/ automounter based on udisks - I was looking for something like that. It has nice feature to unpower device. Can mount and open with (default) thunar. And also docks (optionally) at systray (mone is stalonetray). Most things are working nicely. Even scripts which use dialog if started under xterm are 'clickable' - choices, confiramtions, cancellations - all can be done with mouse. Such programs like htop, mc they work very well with mouse.
