heres the log of it: Code:
PACKAGE NAME: php-5.3.15-i486-1_slack13.37 |
I meant the apache error logs. Maybe you should do more reading and documenting about linux and not expect that all your problems will be solved on a forum.

Back to the topic.
j9x.inca, please answer my questions in post #23. Before we go further, I want to make sure you didn't install Slackware-current instead of Slackware-13.37 as this *could* explain some of your problems. EDIT And please post output of: Code:
ls -1 /etc/httpd |
Maybe the php script you`re trying to acces is causing apache to crash. Make sure you reinstalled php after you reinstalled apache just to be sure you have all the configs and ini`s in place.
Try to access apache at http://localhost with php enabled. If it works that means your script is to blame. |

Can you please explain difference between current and 13.37? I am a hint of newb. I thought current just meant the latest version, which in Slackware's case would be 13.37? I guess im wrong so please explain |

No, the lateset stable version is 13.37 but current is a set of "work in process" packages which eventually should become Slackware 14.
If you can see on a mirror that the distribution trees differ. So please tell us the exact name of the ISO image you downloaded to instal Slackware. For more information, visit http://slackware.com PS I didn't see your last post before posting. Yes Slackware current is something like a beta version (or now, a release candidate, see the changelogs). And yes, you shouldn't mix packages for 13.37 and packages for current. |
j9x.inca, simply run the following commands in terminal, it will be much easier for us to figure out if you have 13.37 and -current mixed up:
Code:
cat /etc/slackware-version |
Choose a slackware-current 32 bit mirror in /etc/slackpkg/mirrors
Then slackpkg remove php httpd rm -rf /etc/httpd (because the .conf file has changed from 13.37) slackpkg update slackpkg upgrade-all slackpkg install apache php Fix your *.new config files. |

Should i stick with this installation since i've already spent a good amount of time tweaking it? or should I do a fresh install of 13.37?
