I bought a Canon MP560 printer back in January. Very impressed with its print quality, but, cannot get it set up for wireless in Slack 13.0_x64. I downloaded and unzipped the Canon IJ_Linux_Printer_Driver_Source_320-1 from one of Canon's sites. Untarring it yeilds the cnijfilter-source-3.20-1 zipped archive. Unzipped that and tried to get it set up. First off, there's a bunch of sub folders and no overall instructions as to which order to compile the folders. When running "make" on the backendnet subfolder, I get the following error:
Code:
gcc -O2 -Wall -I. -I./common -o cnijnetprn cnijnetchk.o cnijnetprn.o -L/usr/local/canon/cnijfilter-source-3.20-1/com/libs_bin -lcnnet -lc -ldl -lcups

I'm not sure what's going on here. I was able to successfully compile the pstocanonij subfolder and it setup the executable pstocanonij file under /usr/local/lib/cups/filter. I symlinked it to /usr/local/lib64/cups/filter/pstocanonij and /usr/lib64/cups/filter/pstocanonij after reading the one post I could find on Google for (cannon find) lcnnet. Nothing else compiles and I get the same error as above with the other folders.
Does anyone have one of these printers, or similar like a MP610, 620, etc setup wirelessly on a Slack 64 build?
If so, how?
thanks
