Any Slackers Running Wine 1.9.9 Dev Release?

I'm running wine 1.8 and recently have noticed 'fixme" errors regarding advapi, winsock and svcctl. They aren't urgent as apps still run, but if these things have been fixed or improved, why not? So if anyone has successfully run the newest release, I'd like to know before attemting it on my own for a preview of any pitfalls or concerns. Thank you in advance.

I'm running Wine-1.9.9 and it works fine. I didn't have any issue compiling. I did have to edit Alien's SlackBuild script so point to the dled archives instead of it downloading Wine sources. It didn't find the 1.9.9 sources.

Thanks dederon but I'm still on 14.0 and 1.9.8 complains about

Code:
checking gnutls/gnutls.h usability... yes
checking gnutls/gnutls.h presence... yes
checking for gnutls/gnutls.h... yes
checking for -lgnutls... not found
checking for gnutls_hash... no
configure: error: libgnutls development files not found, no schannel support.
This is an error since --with-gnutls was requested
I didn't ask for "--with-gnutils" but I expect it is default as it is likely generally needed. I'm going o see if that is a major issue to resolve, but I may have to wait for 14.2 as I see no reason at this late date to go to the few changes of 14.1.

Also thanks JackHair for your encouragement for 1.9.9 though that looks like it must wait for 14.2 for me.

I did enjoy the wine staging additions in dugan's slackbuild for 1.8rc2 but so far haven't been able to point it to 1.9.8. I'll keep trying since there seem to be considerable enthusiasm here.

Major Update !! --

Well once again major kudos to dugan for his winestaging slackbuild. I had forgotten to change the wget directory to 1.9 and upon doing so it found, downloaded, and installed AND with no libgnutls dev errors and does indeed improve upon 1.8 some. I can feel it already and some errors have disappeared and hope to see even more improvements as I use it more. Even though I'm going to wait on 1.9.9 I'm going to mark this solved as I am very pleased with 1.9.8. Thanks everyone, but especially dugan. You da Man!

Thanks enorbet.

If you want a prebuilt package, Alien Bob's are also built with wine-staging.

You're quite welcome... great job. Maybe AlienBob has changed the SB for 14.1 but I tried the one for 14.0 and it compiled many minutes sooner than yours but gave me the libgnutls-dev missing error. The one you modded about 2 months ago took longer and did a lot more but most importantly completed with no errors and runs great. This is in no way meant to disparage Eric's great and massive work. I'm unsure even how much can be derived from my experience as my system is 15,9 32bit with custom kernel with Dropline Gnome installed. FWIW I dislike the Gnome desktop but prefer to extend the Slack philosophy of avoiding dependency issues by having a LOT already installed and there are a few GTK apps I need. It's just that your wine sb has worked a treat for me twice now. Again, Thank You.
