I have not touch KDE for a very long time, mainly because anti-aliasing on my slow machine makes it unbearable.
I have been testing a Dell Inspiron 6000 and it is powerful enough to do anti-aliasing with no problem.
Except, not all application get the anti-aliasing benefit.
For example, Firefox and OpenOffice are denied the rights to it. Even when browsing with konqeuror, the contents of the web pages are not anti-aliased.
However, even on my slow machine, in fluxbox, everything is anti-aliased properly.
I tried fluxbox and xfce on the Dell Inspiron 6000 as well. XFCE anti-aliasing was perfect. fluxbox, I had trouble with root account but on my another user account it was perfect as well.
I have not installed the ATI driver for the radeon x300 GPU. But that would only benefit the 3D apps.
Any hints of what I can do to get anti-aliasing fully working in KDE?
