Another silly question...

I do know the answer, but can't find it, in my brain or on the forum....

How do I find out the model specs on my dvd/cdrom? I know it's something like 'lspci'....

(Sorry, people, I've had a long week, and my brain is dead..)

try this

hdparm -i /dev/hdc(or whatever your drive is)

Thank you. I never even thought of hdparm.

I am in your debt...

you could add the '-I' switch to that too and do
Code:

hdparm -iI /dev/hdc
or 'cd /proc/ide/hdc (or whatever your cdrom is) and cat around.
