You need to skip the update. Slackware is not designed to allow apps to update themselves (although, application permissions can be modified to allow it, but it is not a good idea from a security standpoint). If you'd like the program updated, it'd be best to try to update the SlackBuild for a newer version or contact the maintainer of the SlackBuild to see if they're willing/able to do it.

Wasn't sure because I know it is unusual to update apps in slackware. lol
So I skipped it then accepted the standard install, once that was done, again it requested update permission... by choosing standard setup first the /home/user/Android/ was created after which I accepted the updates it no longer complained about the permissions. Folders were created in my /home/user/ & populated. It also suggested I setup KVM to improve & speedup the emulator... this is all totally new to me. Just going to read some tutorials & watch others. I'm interested in OnePlusX ROM & Gello Browser. LOL Now we do have a setup guide for Android Studio on Slackware64-14.1 thnxs for guiding me bassmadrigal
