An odd set of (unrememberable) key presses has "kterm" windows all hiding , even after relogin .

Hello ALL , I have done this before and being a tad older than when it happened last time I do not remember the sequence of commands or key presses or ??? , which brought back these now hidden kterm sessions .

Do note in the screen capture there are the restarted firefox and two kterm sessions I have manually created . These are pts/15(as root) & pts/16(My user) .

But ...

Code:
# ps -auxww | grep -i pts
jiml 2302 0.0 0.0 21740 4512 pts/3 Ss+ 15:18 0:00 /bin/bash -l
jiml 2303 0.0 0.0 21740 4460 pts/2 Ss+ 15:18 0:00 /bin/bash -l
jiml 2306 0.0 0.0 21740 4468 pts/4 Ss+ 15:18 0:00 /bin/bash -l
jiml 2307 0.0 0.0 21716 4412 pts/1 Ss+ 15:18 0:00 /bin/bash -l

Maybe kterm is keeping alive a session - even after reboot it restart quietly - session is remembered. I would look at kterm settings. Say konqueror is trying always "to hang around". This behavior is from the past - to speed up app start. Due to limited resources. Today there is no need for this.

To reiterate in a differant manner , The sessions that are in the Past(as igadoter mentions) ARE the sessions I WANT BACK . They are part of my "saved sessions" with many modofications to the kterm instances that are what I need returned to the living . And of course my last backups of this system for my user account is way out of date . Next is to setup a snapshot backup for my user account after any session changes .

Another note this is NOT running -current , But 14.2 .

KDE Has thru some keypresses that I in-advertantly pressed has place me in , what appears to be , another instance of X/KDE which is NOT the case . Like another KDE session has been run over the top of the Older sessions .

Anyone with some recommendations of how to accomplish this task ?

Found the below at the bottom of my .xsession-errors file .
Now to find out where "X_GetProperty" is getting the "invalid Window parameter" is stored at .
Wish me luck .

Code:
X Error: BadWindow (invalid Window parameter) 3

@ALL , None of the sympols found in the .xsession-errors file are leading to any of my local KDE configuration files .
Except Neopunk . Which doesn't have X or Window level configuration functions .

Sure would be nice if the X Consortium would put DATESTAMPS in its output to .xsession-errors !

Hope to get at least a idea of where to look for errors that might lead me to the culprit .

Found out what happened , the unknown key presses created a subSession within KDE .
All I had to do was goto the (Red)(Blue)(Green) dots in the taskbar Near the KDE Panel Click on them .
Select the farthest right "New Activity" and after verifying that this was the new session .
I removed it .

Problem solved .

Will log this as solved for posterity .

Twyl , JimL
