AMD bug problem fixed in newer kernels???

I'v installed last summer Slackware 10 and then iI've discovered the notorius AMD Bug about AMD Athlon processors and AGP (X-windows lockup and KDE freezing from time to time).

Unfortunately the addition of the option "mem=nopentium" in lilo didn't solve this serious problem.

Does anyone know if the problem has been fixed in 2.6 kernels or in the latest 2.4.x kernel (2.4.28)????
