Amarok won't play
Other players work but amarok simply refuses to play any mp3s. I tried to play them from my external hard drive and I even copied a few of them to my desktop. I add the file to the playlist and when I click Play nothing happens. It is not a sound issue (I checked the settings and when I click test sound works) also if it was playing at least the progress bar would be moving and it isn't. Any and all help is always welcomed and appreciated.

What distro are you on?
I found a problem with mp3 amarok on openSuse. Either use the "Phonon Backend" in your KDE settings or install gstreamer-0_10-fluendo-mp3.
Else I would check for some mp3 packages with your package manager.
Nother thing could be the backend that is configured for amarok. Might be pulse, might be alsa, might be jack....

I gave up on amarok and installed clementine, amarok is so bloated and instable and sometimes did not work properly.
