Alt key doesn't work on Macbook 5.2.

I use Slackware 14.1 (not current), with MATE and KDM, in a Apple Macbook5.2. However, the Alt key don't work, which is very irritating because often Xorg freeze and I cannot access tty consoles, forcing me to use the power button.

I checked this page https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Apple_Keyboard and tried the
Code:
$ echo options hid_apple swap_opt_cmd=1 | sudo tee -a /etc/modprobe.d/hid_apple.conf
, returning nothing but the whole keyboard not working at all after reboot, and I went back to normal by chrooting and deleting hid_apple.conf.

Is anyone using Slackware on an Apple device having the same issue?

In Google, search for:
Alt key not working on Mac Linux
The first answer looks promising.

[ot]Google gives different results for different users, they don't even give a single user the same ui every time, the first result for the op may not necessarily be the same result for you. To demonstrate, I searched "Alt key not working on Mac Linux" and was greeted by this seemingly unhelpful first result. When telling someone to google something, please also provide the helpful links you found to avoid similar issues, thanks![/ot]

I though about this one.

But now that I think of it it's probably irrelevant.

What the OP should probably do is have a look here:
http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Keyboard-a...e-HOWTO-5.html
and there:
