I believe what that tab does is showing a structured output of "systemd-cgls" command, more or less.

I think it's something we're not gonna have working, unless elogind will include a more full featured cgroups controller at some point.

no window scroll/slider

I can get different desktop backgrounds using Vallpaper.

right click desktop, desktop settings - plasma, wallpaper type:vallpaper 2.0.2, at the bottom of the window select a picture sources folder, have to expand the window to full screen as there's no scroll/slider.

This works on my big monitor but on another install using a different monitor, the window expands but the bottom is cut off and can't scroll/slide down to add picture sources folder.

Can't change monitor resolution, only offers one.

plasma-worspace-5.22.0, need this patch:

https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma...f90d4d55.patch

without this patch the font manager module in 'systemsettings5' not works.

You can get Plasma 5 packages for Slackware-current from Alien BOB's repository. These packages will replace KDE 4 if you have installed that. Read all about it on Eric's blog

Ctrl-Alt-Backspace got me back to the session manager. XFCE is your friend.

IF worst came to worst, could you not completely shut down the VM and reboot? I use Virtualbox on my ancient Mac and sometimes that's what I have to do when things get completely out of hand. I know that's not what we want, but I do what I have to do.

"host key" + F-whatever switches tty for VirtualBox guests. Right-hand Ctrl is the default.

Thank you both @KeithE and @pghvlaans for the suggestions.
I am using virtualbox since 4.x, so I know how to switch to ttyX and shudtown/reboot VB client

My point is that logout and shut down buttons do not work anymore in Plasma after the latest upgrade.
