tl;dr: How can (de-)Selecting multiple, but not all desktops a window shall be displayed on be made simpler?
Right place to ask? Sorry, if this isn't the right place to ask, but even after an extensive web research including LQ.net, Google search and "native" KDE forums and mailing lists I haven't found a more appropriate place. If you know one, please, point me there!
Environment/Context
Slackware64-current with updates until 30th March, 2021.
KDE with Plasma 5, theme is Breeze Dark.
My problem
In previous KDE versions I clicked on the title bar of a window to open a menu from which I could select one desktop, on which the window should be displayed, or all desktops. This has been changed. Now it is possible to select and deselect multiple desktops or all desktops. While this is more flexible, of course, it is, IMHO, not implemented in the most comfortable way. The issue I have with this is that the menu for desktop selection doesn't stay open. After each click to select one desktop the menu is closed and I have to re-click on the title bar, re-open the menu and (de-)select the next desktop. Why do I find this annoying?
Because, when a window is displayed on multiple desktops and I want to change that so that it is displayed on exactly one, this requires, at least, six clicks now: Click on the title bar, click to open the menu, click "All desktops". Menu is closed. Click on title bar again, reopen the menu, select the target desktop.
As I usually want window to be displayed on exactly one virtual desktop, six mouse clicks appears a bit excessive to me. However, maybe (probably!) I am simply overlooking something. If there was a way, e.g. a combination of keys to be pressed, to keep the desktop selection menu open for (de-)selecting multiple desktops, this would be a great relief, and then the improved flexibility would really be useful.
See attached screenshot
I have attached a screenshot showing the desktop selection menu I am talking of. "Arbeitsfläche" is German for "Desktop".
Thanks for any help or pointer to a more appropriate place to ask!
I'm not certain since I tend to just minimize apps but I think Right Clicking on the titlebar now brings up a condensed menu. One of the menuitems is "More Actions" and I think there one can adjust window manager behavior to reduce the complexity of just moving to a virtual desktop.
If you don't see that option you may need to make the window manager aware of virtual desktops in System Settings > Virtual Desktops. If only "Desktop 1" is shown, click the "Add" button and rename it to whatever you like and it will then appear immediately upon Right Clicking the titlebar.

Thanks, but not sure what you mean with the condensed menu. What I do see is an option to move the window around, and as I allowed windows to be moved to another desktop I can grab an window with the mouse and drag to another desktop. This works, and may be useful sometimes, but after dropping the window at its destination I have to move the mouse back to the original desktop, if I want to continue there.
Regarding virtual desktops, the title bar menu offers exactly the number of virtual desktops configured in System Settings > Virtual Desktops for selection. So the behaviour is consistent, here.
It can be difficult to help out with so many updates every couple of days, so I'll just mention that as of 3/31/2021 I used slackpkg+ upgrade-all to fully update my Current-Multilib systems. I only had Desktop 1 as of yesterday so I added a New Desktop" via the above method and renamed it "Desktop 2".
Now when I rt clk on any apps title bar the very top menuitem is "Move to Desktop > " where it (rather oddly) displays "1 Desktop 1" and "2 New Desktop" but it works flawlessly. Part of the oddnes is my Panel now shows 4 virtual desktops but only 1 + 2 are currently functional. Those work perfectly however.
Incidentally I mention upgrade dates because I've now upgraded all ast least 6 or 8 times and sometimes different flaws appear, particularly recurring for me anyway is some settings related to root activity will stop asking for root password and "Apply" does nothing. When I choose to close out "System Settings" a dialogue box appears asking if I want to apply and answering "Apply" still does nothing.
Also, and more annoying, is opening a system conf file in User Dolphin for example and attempting to edit it will no longer prompt for root password but instead just tell me some variation of "You can't do that". I have to resort to using "kdesu" or actually logoff and back in as root to do some such work. We are still in Alpha after all.
Distribution: Slackware64-current with "True Multilib" and KDE4Town.

Are you talking about "Activities"? If so, you can hold down the "windows" key and then hit the "Tab" key and switch between "Activities," aka, "desktops."

If you have two monitors, that is normal. It will display all monitors for each virtual desktop... at least with KDE4 (haven't had much time with -current and Plasma5 to remember if it's the same there).

That is what it does! In the attachment is a screenshot of my Plasma 5 with 4 virtual desktops and 3 monitors. The middle one is UHD and it decides the size of the vertical layout. QMPlay2 is playing on all desktops on the right monitor. It is positioned in the middle of the layout on the right. The left monitor is positioned to the top left.
Since about Slackware 15α1 and current (updated today) KDE5 Dolphin no longer works. It only runs in the taskbar but no window appears. It used to be that if I attempted to mount certain devices like a USB flash drive or SD card or cell phone, then Dolphin would still open a window even if the device didn't actually mount. Now even that trick isn't working and it only opens in the taskbar, no window. Used to be KDE Geeqie image viewer did the same but it's working again now.
KDE will be maintaining a set of patches with security and functional fixes so that we can enjoy good KDE Software still based on Qt5 until our software is reliably based on Qt 6.
Since the last plasma update (Tue Apr 6 19:54:52 UTC 2021), I have no "multimedia player" in the state/notification bar anymore. I can enable it (attachment) but it's not display in the bar even if I play something with a player like smplayer/cantata. I also tried to add a key shortcut but it doesn't work.
Do you have this issue too? Do you know how to fix it?
I just upgraded my desktop to the latest and greatest, and I am playing music through VLC.
In the systray I have an icon for VLC as soon as I start it. An additional icon appears the moment VLC starts playback of my music. That second icon is the KDE Media Player controls.
