After upgrade to last current version no more bluetooh

Hi I update my Slackware to the last version of current and I do not have the Bluetooth application (blueman) in the task bar?

I can see my device using lsusb:

I follow these site trying loading the modules and enabling the service manually.
Nothing worked, I am using XFCE 4.8 compiled by Robby Workman.
I have this configuration in two different laptops, one asus and one toshiba and the problem exists in booth.

Go to "settings" > "seesion and startup" > "application autostart" and put a check mark in the box next to, "Blueman Applet" (or Blueman Bluetooth Manager) and restart Xfce.

Hmmm... Have you tried re-installing (upgradepkg --reinstall --install-new) Blueman and the three bluez packages?

Have you installed kernel-modules?
If you have a USB bluetooth adapter, do you see it with "lsusb" or "lsusb.py"?

And the Bluetooth module is active.
I have a fedora live usb and with that OS I have Bluetooth.

And as I said, I used alien bob mirror-slackware script to create a dvd with the current tree.
I install Slackware current in other laptop and the Bluetooth is gone.

In two different laptops, one upgraded to Slackware current and other fresh installed with Slackware current and in booth the Bluetooth is gone.

Are those -current ISO-s the full package? Apparently you are missing something, eh?
Perhaps, if you did a complete install from the original 13.37 DVD and then updated it from there. Wouldn't take long.
Just a thought.

That is not the case, since I have to laptops, one updated from slackpkg update, slackpkg install-new and slackpkg upgrade-all.

I have another laptop and on that I installed from the DVD build from alien bob script.

Off course the 13.37 DVD works, prior to the last updates I had Bluetooth working in my laptop.

Maybe Bluetooth is deactivated via hardware switch and the system doesn't recognize it properly. Have the same problem on a Dell D630 laptop here.

Run

"rfkill unblock all" as root user and see if the device gets recognized.

Maybe you activated the Bluetooth feature on Windows?

For my DELL Laptop there is an application for Windows available which can turn off the Bluetooth adapter. If i disable bluetooth in Windows, it cannot be activated on Linux. It is simply not recognized, so rfkill switches won't work.

It took me a long while to find out that the application disables the device in the BIOS somehow. I don't know why such a feature has been implemented in an otherwise good notebook -.-

But its good to hear that it works now for you
