So how's it looking now?

Once you put your DNS server's IP in /etc/resolv.conf, and run adsl-setup/adsl-start again it should be fine.

restart the adsl connection... it sounds like your adsl-connection might just have been killed

I've never had any problems with rp... assuming ppp is installed, etc. So just so we're clear:

you ran adsl-setup put in all your info, user/pass, dns servers, correct eth port... plugged it in and at "adsl-start" it says ".. . Connected!" and then you run adsl-status and it says "PPP is down"

Or are we missing a step? If you have dns servers in there, and it says connected! you should be in the clear.

We figured out the reason you couldn't search the web, no dns server, now the problem is something else... It sounds like you're not getting a connection at all. Make sure your usrname and pass are right in rp. Other than that I can't help you. I know for my ISP I had to put the whole dealio in for my usrname (eg "joe@ISP.net" )

If you're sure you have everything set up right (usr/pwd/dns/proper eth card) I'm at a loss.
