Tor process seems to be dying exactly like shadowsocks in this thread https://www.linuxquestions.org/quest...-a-4175629002/

strace log tail attached:

Quote:
accept4(10, {sa_family=AF_INET, sin_port=htons(55756), sin_addr=inet_addr("xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx")}, [16], SOCK_CLOEXEC|SOCK_NONBLOCK) = 13
setsockopt(13, SOL_SOCKET, SO_REUSEADDR, [1], 4) = 0
getsockopt(13, SOL_IP, 0x50 /* IP_??? */,
So an eventual kernel update for 14.2 might fix the trouble for tor users affected by this as well

The patch for this issue is first applied in 4.4.119, 4.14.23 and 4.15.7. 4.15.x is EOL, the -current is using 4.14.40 by now, so it works. I suggest a minor kernel update for slackware 14.2.

Bumping.

I was having the same issue with tor, solved by installing kernel 4.4.132.

awabimakoto mentined 4.4.119 but ... just to be sure I installed the latest 4.4
Waiting for Pat to update the kernel

Thanks for all and mention the problem was with the kernel, this was driving me nuts, the new kernel didn't come to my mind

Confirming that tor transparent proxying works again after the kernel update to 4.4.132.
