adaptec.s with rawrite = boot failed

In trying to fix another error, I have come upon a scsi problem. I need to copy some files to my hard disk via a live/boot cd but cannot access the scsi drive. I know slackware says to make a boot disk with adaptec.s using rawrite but when I do this it either outputs odd assembly memory locations or simply says "Boot Failed". This is Slackware 10.2

Thanks
