Activate GPM Mouse Server

Hi,

I never worked with GPM and wanted to give it a shot. I chose not to activate it during setup, so I expected to find something like an /etc/rc.d/rc.gpm file with 0644 permissions. Instead, there's a rc.gmp-sample with 0755 permissions, which seems a bit odd.

I suppose I'm expected to rename rc.gpm-sample to rc.gpm to activate it. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Cheers,

Niki

I have rc.gpm in /etc/rc.d, permissions 755.

Did you answer no to enabling GPM during installation?

Yes, I answered NO. Tried this on another machine, and answering YES results in an executable rc.gpm instead of an executable rc.gpm-sample. Anyway, this is no big deal. I just wonder why rc.gpm is treated differently than services like, say, rc.cups, rc.httpd, rc.ntpd etc.

Couldn't you run pkgtool and activate gpm from there?
