ACPI half supported

I'm really running Slamd64 10.2, which is a port of Slackware, on an eMachines M6805 (laptop). Running kernel 2.6.12.4

There is no /proc/acpi/battery directory. I checked the kernel and ACPI/Battery support is enabled (as a module), and acpid is running. ACPI seems to be working because my CPU successfully throttles.

Any idea on how to get the /proc/acpi/battery support?

Thanks.

Try giving ec_burst=1 parameter to the kernel at the boot time.

No, that didn't work.

I know on a different distribution, although it was probably Slackware, I did have full ACPI support and my battery did report its capacity. It just seems a little odd that on Slamd64 I don't have battery support.

Did you try to load battery module? /sbin/modprobe battery
Check dmesg for errors.
