About UDMA in slackware 9.0

By default all my hds and cdroms are in udma33.

i run Hdparm and and see the config of the devices, all runing at udma33 and using access 16 bit mode....

how safe is use the max udma of my hds? (UDMA100), and what about change from 16 bit to 32 bit the access?

and where i put those config, i donīt want run hdparm all the time.

Once you have changed the values to your needs/wants/desires (32bit, udma100) with the switches from man hdparm you can save the changes, or have them setup at each boot by placing the command in rc.local (/etc/rc.d/rc.local) just as if you were running from the command line yourself:
hdparm -d1 blah blah... /dev/hdx

I prefer to use the -q (I think) option as well to keep the execution of those things quiet, aka non-verbose.

Cool
