About Locale

I changed my locale by editing /etc/profile.d/lang.sh and /etc/profile.d/lang.csh from en_US to el_GR. I had a problem with OpenOffice and Greek, and the locale changing solved it. But some other applications have now Greek interface and to be honest, I don't like it. And the error messages in the console, are now in Greek. I just want OpenOffice to have Greek locale. Can I set the locale only to specific applications(here, OpenOffice) and keep the en_US for the rest of the OS?

Does exporting the LANG variable before calling OpenOffice work:

$ export LANG=el_GR
$ swriter

??

If not, maybe exporting these values as root before running the SlackBuild (assuming that you aqcuired the package through www.slackbuilds.org) might help.

Yep that did the trick. Now I run only openoffice with el_GR as its locale.
Cheers!
