About Live Slack on usb

Some insights.

Is this normal on usb 2 that it does not work smoothly.
The system is stuck for a while.
Not system as a whole but randomly opened some program window.
Any program.
They freezes for a while /several long seconds/ and then start works but it is annoying.
Looks like pauses I/O devices ?
I wrote devices because when I open pictures from hd drive in picture viewer it stuck too.Progress bar stops during loading picture.
MOst of the time first attempt freezes window next is better.

Usb stick is quite new /bought previous week/ , checked filesystem is OK.
I run it on 3 different computers with different graphicks card.
It is the latest Mate version of Live Slackware.
But no errors in system logs.
Only some errors in "xssesion-errors" like this but I am not an expert in Mate Graphics Environment bugs.

(eom:16633): EOM-CRITICAL **: eom_list_store_get_pos_by_image: assertion 'EOM_IS_IMAGE (image)' failed

(eom:16781): Gtk-WARNING **: Negative content width -11 (allocation 1, extents 6x6) while allocating gadget (node button, owner GtkToggleButton)
(geeqie:10435): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_hash_table_lookup: assertion 'hash_table != NULL' failed
I know usb stick it is not a good place for a system but...
MAybe I will install Live once again .

Live slack is fine usually, but with any system on USB, don't hold your breadth while it loads.
I wouldn't get panicky about gtk errors. It's a bit neurotic.
dmesg |tail -f might be much more interesting if you have a terminal. If not, examine the 'dmesg |more' output later for usb strangeness.
