about es18xx in alsaconf?


about es18xx in alsaconf?
hello,everbody!
i used es1879 with slackware10.1,when i run alsaconf,the system

said:"find es18xx",then i reboot my pc,i run speaker-test(this is a

sound test programe),the system said:"write error:Input/ouput

error,transfer failedperation not permitted",i run mp123 to play

music,the system said:"ALSA write error:Input/ouput error",what's wrong

with my sound card?but in windows 2k,the sound can play music!

Ok, firstly you don't need to reboot after running alsaconf. It's Linux, not windows.

Is your user in the audio group?

Does /dev/dsp exist?

It sounds like a permission issue, does it work under root?

Also make sure the proper modules have been loaded, check the output of lsmod.
