abiword crashes when changing fonts

I have no idea if this is specifically a Slackware problem or not, but it is the distribution I'm using, so here goes...

I've had to reinstall OpenOffice.org again. After deciding to try to live with the smaller, more agile Abiword that comes with Slackware.

The reinstall was occasioned by the fact that Abiword will crash (the window just goes away) when I would try to change the font on existing text. Not changing the font before I typed, but if I highlight text and then change the font.

The system is a stock slack-current machine, with added truetype fonts, both microsoft and third-party.

Anyone else have this happen?

I can't reproduce this behaviour with abiword 2.0.12
Is there any error output if you start abiword from a terminal ?

Neither can I, reliably. It is truly random, honestly, and impossible to predict. And I'm using 2.0.12 as well.

UPDATED: Just got it to crash again. And the extremely helpful error message is "Aborted"

Nurtz.
