A doubt regarding broadcomm wifi driver

while trying to get wifi driver for braodcomm from Slackware 14.1 in salckbuilds. ..the read me file which is required for installation process was not present .i was not able to download the file .instead i downloaded the file from drivers of 14.2 version ..now will this affect any performance or fry my wifi card?

Installation was successful but i just wanted to confirm whether it'll harm my laptop's wifi card in any way ?

I think there isn't any problem because all version are the same for 14.1 and 14.2,
for proprietary sta and b43-firmware.
