If you look at the "business OS" from Microsoft

1.0, 2.0, 3.0, 3.1, 3.11, NT4 (4), 2000(5), XP (6), Vista (?), 7, 8....

it seems they deny that Vista existed

7 & 8 aren't actually 7.0 and 8.0:

95 = 4.0
98 = 4.1
2000 = 5.0
XP = 5.1
Vista = 6.0
7 = 6.1
8 = 6.2

Maybe we should have a Discordian version of the next release of Slackware? Certainly would throw a lot of people off, but I think it would be a good laugh .

Thanks for this article. I would add that is something goes wrong - don't blame Slackware - blame developers of the
software - well - I'm trying, and retrying, and reretrying to make work KDE 4.x - but ...well probably there is
a blacklist of people for whom KDE 4.x will never work - and I'm suspecting I am on that blacklist. The second remark:
I found WindowMaker very nice.
