Well, I'm a Bluewhite64 user since the first release and never had problems. I'm using OO too, on the linuxpackages.net there is a BG version which is working well on BW64. Also, I'm running the -current version, on my other PC, where the BW64 maintainer has activated the IA32-emulation and the 32-bit programs working well (like flash with both Firefox 32 and 64 bit - see the BW64 forums).
You are a lucky man. I'm not. I can't install on my PC (ASUS K8N4-E, AMD Sempron 2500+ / 64, 512 MB RAM, ATI X300 PCIE). In VMware, a 12 GB virtual harddisk is too little (no space remain or corrupted packages error). Even the log files of the BW 11.0 Live DVD are full of mess (ex: see /var/log/secure). Just read another point of view: http://slackworld.berlios.de/2007/sl...bit_world.html.
Try install the latest iso, 11.1-test1, which was released a few days ago. I know, it is a development release, but so far so good here, I don't have stability issues.
I still hold little grudge against Slamd64 for it didn't work and crashed last time I used it
Quite possibly by my own doing and this was over a year ago. I could give it a another go at somepoint but I will stick to my Slackware-current for now.

Just in retrospect.. over a year ago things were still being ported... Slamd64 is quite stable now
I've been running -current for the past two years, since Fred did the original port.
The "coaster" series of installs was needless to say not fun, but as things developed over the years.. its solid. No issues. Runs everything I throw at it.
By the way, does anyone have any clues about an official port of Slackware on the AMD64 architecture? It will not be that long before our computers commonly hit the 4 GB memory limit of the current 32 bits architectures and OS so it will soon begin to be a real problem, isn't it?
I don't know if it's possible on x86 but I'm running Splack 10.2 on my Sun E250 with a 64-bit kernel and 32-bit user land. It can't even run 32-bit kernels. And I have to build a 64-bit kernel for my MIPS machine to overcome memory size limitations.

The difference is that on Sparc64 (and PPC64 as well, IIRC), you pay a high performance and resources penalty for 64 bit userspace. On x86-64 this isn't true (sometimes a small hit, sometimes a gain), so with x86-64 you can have an entirely 64 bit userspace without any great loss.
I still don't have to run 64-bit and my server that could benefit from 64-bit OS needs some 32-bit software like linux emulation which currently isn't available for 64-bit version
I think pretty soon Slack needs to have a official 64-bit version.
If you want Slack 64 now may I suggest you give the latest version of Slamd64 a go. I'm giving it a test on my home PC and it really flies, Fred has done an outstanding job on the latest version and I will be making a donation to him when I get paid.
