403 forbidden

gawd i know you are all tired of me. Anyway so i got apache up. My ftp works. I added a user (flawless) well when i try to access the site 12.345.67.891/~flawless it says 403 forbidden.....i have chmoded the home directory to 755 so why is it still not working?

It might be that IP, Seems a bit generic ;)

I'm assuming you mean you are trying to access this via FTP. If so, you login with the new user:
ftp://1.2.3.4
OR
ftp://flawless@1.2.3.4
And it should pop up a password box, type in your user's password, and you 'should' appear in that users home directory (assuming you've got a DefaultRoot in your FTP servers config file).

Which server? And is this via FTP or HTTP or what? What are you trying to do?

I'm glad you got your things working by the way, what was the final issue that you overcame?

Cool
