2_problem_with_the_new_kernel

I compilled kernel 2.6.20, all it's working.
But I have 2 problems:
1.The rezolution in text mode is not that good, it have the pillow effect.(I hope you know what's that).
2.When I enter Xserver it's working fine, but If I whant to enter in text mode(ctr+alt+Fn or ctr+backspace) my monitor is closing.
Is there any solution?
thx

the pillow effect???? wtf??

sounds like some form of framebuffer issue to me... did you include vesa 2.0 framebuffer code in your kernel?

Would you share your kernel config?

Which graphics card do you use? Don't include any drivers for your card in your kernel if you plan to use proprietary drivers from nvidia or ati. If you want, better make it as module then.

I put here the kernel configuration http://www.geocities.com/is_juni/ker...figuration.txt

VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV280 [Radeon 9200 SE] (rev 01)
Display controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV280 [Radeon 9200 SE] (Secondary) (rev 01)

Seems ok at a first glance, i'd try removing the radeon fb stuff myself, but then if you're not explicitly defining that radeonfb in the kernel line it wouldn't use it afaik.
